Her specialty is in ensemble based physical theatre though her portfolio extends well beyond from devising to Shakespeare. She also works within the Deaf/disabled and other communities to develop communication and confidence utilizing performance mediums.

Sin Eater
Director, Divisor
Sin Eater is a new devised performance in the Camden Fringe 2024 at the Cockpit Theatre.
A group of young protesters have found themselves in purgatory after the violent end of a demonstration. What they thought to be a righteous cause was based on less than the truth and now their souls must reconcile with reality in order to move on.

Transformations
Director
A chamber opera by Anne Sexton and Conrad Suza at CMU Opera. Transformations is based on the Grimms Brothers Fairy Tales as told by Anne Sexton during her time in a Psychiatric institution. This is Karina’s second time directing at Carnegie Mellon. Autumn 2024
Workshops and Facilitation
Karina Aviva offers workshops in Movement/Physical Theatre, Directing, and Devising for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students as well as independent workshops throughout the year.
She has most recently completed tenure as visiting Professor of Movement and Physical Theatre at the prestigious FSU/ASOLO Conservatory in conjunction with ASOLO Repertory Theatre. Karina is currently teaching Six Viewpoints and movement directing with the National Youth Theatre as well as Goldsmiths College, UOL.
Previously she has taught at NYU Atlantic, East 15, Terpsichore Dance & Theatre, Barrington Stage Company, and John DeSotelle Studios.
